The
Scarecrow and the Raven
(Linja Meller)
I see an old man standing in a garden
No he’s just a weird folkstuck in the ground
Tell me melon man, what you’re staying here for?
Tell me scarecrow, why do you exist?
Stop scoffing bird and look
It’s me just me who took
As fairytales their lives, so preciously.
I need them to see
And they need me to be
A story needs a teller, certainly.
I’m
sorry to offend you, but could you tell me why
You let them move on while you are standing by?
You carry their burden, which „stories“ you call
Your absence of motion is use for them all
Stupid bird, why won’t you
Understand, I told you
That’s my role to play, isn’t it.
I’m their guardian of mind I
Make them see when they’re blind
I’m stayin‘, That’s it, isn’t it.
Scarecrows grin, they never cry
Crow
are you scared?
The scarecrow will do…
Grin upon your story, don’t move, just for you
I’m
the one who catches people that did fall
And you’re the one who listens to the ones that did call
We’re both part of the garden and the garden, that’s life
Do you mind if I stay … for you stand and I fly
Dark bird may stay, one
Flower for each day, one
Story for each crow, one
Grin for each blow
We’re
both stuck
Through bones or mind
And everyone here
gets out alive
